The SoulClap Cafe offers a safe and sacred space for Black women to release generational trauma and consider childhood, workplace, and spiritual encounters that amplified their joy. This human-centric study was approved by the International Review Board. It centered around semi-structured interviews conducted by intergenerational researcher Michelle Gunn and Dr. Chris Omni, MPH, MLS. Research mentees Eryn Files, and Gemini Williamson supported during the three segments entitled “Joy,” “Nature and Spirituality,” and “Growth, Lessons, and Self-Care.” Qualitative data was collected from transcripts and recordings and analyzed under four key frameworks (See "Narrative Inquiry"). Our findings will be published within the inaugural edition of SoulClap: A Black Joy Journal, under the theme of “Black Joy and Nature."
