Soles of Black Women
Endarkened Visual
Narrative Inquiry
Research Process
Walking art is not new, but it is an artistic space that very few Black people are in. With a background in Public Health and a PhD in Art Education, Dr. Omni, MPH, MLS found this space to be Divinely perfect to create conversations around nature, inter/intra-connectedness, and Black Joy.

To closely mirror the 14 essays in Dubois’ book, Dr. Omni, MPH, MLS identified nine volunteers who agreed to let her photograph and video this one-on-one, intimate moment of rest and sun witnessing. The images captured served as a visual narrative about the importance of rest and the healing properties of nature.
